Character Newsletter November 2006

The SPG Residential Design Guide has been a great help in establishing that the Cranley Road Area has a special character. However, the description "Character Type 3: Loose-knit late 16th and early 20th Century housing" is very general and leaves a lot unsaid. Containing just two photographs, it has been difficult for developers and planners to appreciate the features that give the Cranley Road Area it's unique character.

In November 2006 CRARA published a special edition of the Newsletter devoted to the Character of the Cranley Road Area. It contains numerous drawings and photographs, illustrating the history , features and architecture of the area.
